Dear Prologue artists,
Here it is almost the holidays. I’m not quite sure where the fall went but here we are, ready to celebrate the season! (With no snow…sigh…I love snow!) It is also an exciting time as we look to the New Year and the strategic planning process that we are about to undertake.
In an early November meeting, the sales team were discussing our marketing approach to Black History Month. (Personally, I find the notion of Black History “Month” quite frustrating as we “choose” to celebrate these particularly stories/performances only in February!)
Our staff discussion led to the need to express more clearly the importance of exposing children to diverse stories and art forms, and the idea of asking our artists about their experience of performing these shows in schools was born.
We developed some questions for that purpose but discovered that our interest went beyond BHM and that we wanted to hear from ALL of our artists about their perceptions, triumphs and challenges in performing for young people.
We have received responses from many of you. Your comments and stories have been wonderful, insightful and very helpful in our marketing approach, as we soon begin a strategic planning process.
Thank you to all who responded!
It is not too late for those who haven’t. Contact me if you need us to resend you the form. We are always so happy to hear about your fabulous exchanges with young people!
Wishing you and yours a magical holiday season
